The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Trinidad, Bohol, successfully celebrated the 124th Civil Service Anniversary on a grand scale with a Family Day at Quinale Resort, Anda, Bohol. This whole-day event, held on September 22, 2024, brought together employees from various departments, including the Department of Education (DepEd) and other national agencies operating within the municipality. The Family Day was designed to foster camaraderie, teamwork, and a sense of unity among public servants, while also giving them a well-deserved day of relaxation and fun.

The day was packed with exciting activities and contests, with seven vibrant teams—Green, Yellow, Pink, Blue, Red, Black, and White—each bringing their A-game. The teams showcased their creativity and team spirit by participating in a lively Yells and Cheering Competition. Each team, dressed in their distinct colors, performed coordinated cheers, chants, and routines that reflected their enthusiasm and unity, setting the stage for friendly but fierce competition throughout the day.

One of the key highlights of the celebration was the Awards Ceremony, where the LGU of Trinidad honored its hardworking public servants. Recognitions were given to the “Best Employees” from different offices, “Best Department Heads,” and the “Best Office Performances,” highlighting those who had demonstrated exceptional service, leadership, and commitment to public service. These awards not only motivated the employees to continue their exemplary work but also reinforced the values of dedication, professionalism, and excellence in government service.

In addition to the awards, the Muse Contest captivated the audience. Each team presented a “muse” – a representative who embodied the grace, poise, and charm of their respective teams. The participants impressed the judges and onlookers with their confidence, elegance, and flair, adding a touch of pageantry to the day’s festivities.

The Family Day wasn’t just about competition and awards—it also focused on fostering meaningful connections. Team-building games, including relay races, group challenges, and fun physical activities, brought employees closer together. The event offered a chance for participants to break away from the routine of office work and enjoy the sun, sea, and sand with colleagues and family members. The scenic beauty of Quinale Resort provided the perfect backdrop for the day’s activities, creating a relaxed atmosphere where everyone could bond and recharge.

The entire event was made possible through the excellent leadership of Municipal Mayor Atty. Roberto C. Cajes, Ph.D. and Dr. Quirino T. Nugal, Jr., who played an instrumental role in planning and executing this memorable celebration. In his opening remarks, Mayor Cajes emphasized the importance of the Civil Service Anniversary, reflecting on the values of public service and the vital role that LGU employees play in the progress of Trinidad. He encouraged everyone to continue working together to make Trinidad a more prosperous and unified municipality.

The 124th Civil Service Anniversary celebration was more than just a day of games and contests—it was a reflection of the LGU’s commitment to building a supportive, positive, and cohesive workplace. It showcased the strength of unity, the importance of recognizing outstanding work, and the value of taking time to appreciate the efforts of public servants who serve the municipality tirelessly.

As the sun set over Quinale Resort, participants left with smiles, carrying with them memories of a fun-filled day that underscored the spirit of togetherness in the LGU of Trinidad. The event was a true testament to the power of collaboration and the vibrant community spirit that defines the municipality’s workforce.
